CLASSIC CHINESE DRESS--Did you ever hear the word used for the traditional Chinese dress for women? It is ''Cheongsam.'' That is ''ping ing'' (written the way it sounds) for the word, which would normally be written in Chinese characters. Pronounce it just the way it looks: ''Cheeongsam." That 'e' is there--just a little--because it IS pronounced! Now you know!

Our cheongsam dress is made especially to fit American Girl and Bitty Baby dolls (the difference is in the length of their legs). Made of red brocade satin with black piping and a set of "frogs" on front. Opens in back with hook-and-loop for easy on and off. Can be used as a nightgown, too!

Perfect for Julie and Ivy. Ivy received a lucky red cheongsam dress from her mother as a gift at Chinese New Year in the story. Julie received a blue one!
