These already sold out in ballet pink! The pink slippers we have now have a different sole.
Around the top edge, inside the ribbon, is an elastic shoestring just like real ballet slippers have. We have tied it in a bow for the picture but you should pull it tight, tie a strong knot, and tuck the string inside like ballerinas do. This is for safety--so they cannot trip on the string, fall down and get hurt.
And just like a real ballerina does for her practice shoes, you can add a little piece of elastic across the arch of the foot if you want it. (Real ballet slippers are ''straight-last'' and the professionals switch feet each time they wear them to keep them straight. If you have a hard time telling the difference between your shoes that is the reason!)
When Betsy was a little girl, her teacher, Kenny, was a principal from ABT, the American Ballet Theatre in New York. He had the coolest car! It was a French car called a Citroen!
We still have these with black sole (Almost Perfect).The pink version of our ballet slippers is sold out at this time with the correct sole (Perfect). We do still have pink with pink sole(Almost-Perfect).
