RED MINI TIN LANTERN--Another realistic accessory for your American Girl dolls. The quality of this item is amazing. It looks and feels just like the real thing---only smaller! The metal body of the lantern is is pierced in a pattern and painted deep barn red (looks brighter in the picture than it really is because of the flash). There is a little working door that opens and closes. The inside of this lantern is empty.

Dimensions are 4 inches tall x 1-1/4 inch diameter.

Perfect for Josefina, Kirsten, Addy, all of the historical characters from American Girl.

I wish I could give five stars because it is really cute but there is a large hole on the back for a Christmas light because this is actually a Christmas ornament. This hole should have been disclosed in the listing.

I have Little House on the Prairie 18 inch dolls, Laura, Mary and Nellie.  This pierced tin lantern meets with the story description very well.  The scale is very nice in my doll's hand.  The door does open with patience. Open and close gently.  It is too small for a battery operated tea light, but has a hole in the back to accept a light bulb.  I think a battery operated LED bulb artistically arranged in a scene could be cute.
