This dress will look nice with a slip underneath. Don't add pantaloons if you want to be historically correct--No decent female wore anything with legs in it during the Colonial era! When you think about it there is some sense behind it--it would have been impossible to keep things dry when in the outhouse if there were too many different pieces to deal with :o)
